Chocolate Satin Frosting
1 ½ cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
2 T hot water
3 1oz chocolate squares – melted
1 egg slightly beaten
4 T melted margarine
¼ t rum or vanilla extract



Blend sugar and hot water into chocolate.  Beat half of egg into chocolate mixture, then beat
the remaining egg.  Beat in margarine, 1 tablespoon at a time.  Blend in extract.  Frosting will
be thin so place bowl over ice water and beat until it is of spreading consistency.  Spread on
cake.  Very creamy icing.
